Now maybe you have access to these types of establishments where you live, but my eyes were shocked when I found a gas selling packy. Even weirder, the cashier thought I was walking (ummm… its a gas station) and tried to double bag my beverages. She also thought it was weird that I asked for clarification that they do indeed sell gas as well as liquor and beer. However, this is Massachusetts and you don’t see this type of business so much around here. Important note: I did not drink the beer until I was safely at home.
12/30: went to a drive-thru Starbucks December 30, 2008
I didn’t even know these existed! Though I love Starbucks, and the service was friendly, it took about 15 minutes and I was the third car. All I got was a coffee.
11/2: drove the wrong way down the street November 4, 2008
I am an absolute moron. I didn’t notice that the street was one way. Luckily, I realized my mistake after only a few feet and no one was hurt. Additionally, this street is in my neighborhood. I should really pay more attention.
10/10- got my car towed from work October 16, 2008
I am a moron for two reasons:
1. not checking the signs
and
2. not getting there early enough to get a spot in the lot.
Lesson learned.
3/17: filled my tires with air March 17, 2008
So I have a screw embedded in the driver’s side rear tire of my Jeep. I realize that it needs to be patched, but I don’t have time this second to do so. So I pulled into a gas station and figured out the whole filling tires with air thing. For some reason, this activity really seemed difficult to me, but there was no one there to help, so I tried it out. It seems to have worked, and was not nearly as intimidating as I had thought. I am a real girl in the sense that I could give a crap about cars and engines and rims. Even filling my own tank is something I try to avoid (though I have mastered this skill.) Now, its on to practice driving a standard. This is something I should know how to do, and I can in a jam, but I feel totally uncomfortable. Practice makes perfect, right?
3/6: got premium fuel March 8, 2008
What is the big deal about this? As far as I can tell it is a ripoff. I got it yesterday and gave it a day of driving to see if I noticed a difference. The only difference is that I paid $3.39 instead of $3.05. Granted, I drive a Jeep, not a Lexus or Mercedes, but come on. At least I can sleep easy getting the cheap stuff.
